International Consortium on Dementia and Wayfinding
Our aspiration is that neighbourhoods address ways of supporting people living with dementia to go out and about safely in their communities without fear of stigma or harm from getting lost or being missing.

Wayfinding
Wayfinding concerns the ways in which someone locates themselves in place and space influencing how they move from one place to another. In the context of dementia, this may also include whether someone has an awareness of their location – someone may feel ‘lost’ even in a place that is normally known to them. We use the term ‘missing’ to describe someone who is not where others expect them to be.
