Current members of the International Consortium on Dementia and Wayfinding

Wayfinding concerns the ways in which someone locates themselves in place and space – influencing how they move from one place to another. In the context of dementia, this may also include whether someone has an awareness of their location – someone may feel ‘lost’ even in a place that is normally known to them. We use the term ‘missing’ to describe someone who is not where others expect them to be.
